Pearlie Mae Alexander Stanton

Born:  12 February 1904 - Texas
Died:  24 March 1978 - Park Place Nursing Home - Palestine, Anderson, Texas
Father:  Will A. Alexander

Spouses:  J.B. Carter - Ecomet Burley - Sye Ruben - Eddie Stanton

Mrs. Pearl Mae Alexander Stanton was born to the union of Reverend William alexander and Lizzie Alexander in Houston County.
At an early age she united with the South Union Baptist Church where she remained a faithful member until her health prevented her from serving  She served her church in many capacities.
She attended school in Palestine, Anderson County, Texas where she graduated from Lincoln High School.  She later attended Mary Allen Junior College, Crockett, Texas and received the B.S. Degree.  She also earned the M.A. Degree from Texas Southern University, Houston, Texas.
Her teaching career includes teaching at Cuney Academy School, New Chapel and other schools in Anderson County.  Mrs. Stanton later transferred to Lincoln High School and finally to A.M. Story School where she served until her retirement.  Her teaching career covered a period of forty years.
Mrs. Pearl Stanton married Mr. J.B. Carter and to this union one son was born, her husband and son preceded her in death.  Later she married Mr. Ecomet Burley and to this union no children were born.  She later married Mr. Sye Ruben and no children were born to this union.  She later met and married Mr. Eddie Stanton who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Stanton departed this life on Friday, March 24, 1978 at Park Place Nursing Home, Palestine, Texas.
Her survivors include:  One sister, Mrs. Martha Moody, Corsicana, Texas; one brother-in-law, Mr. John Moody, Corsicana, Texas; two grandsons of Houston, Texas; one foster son, Mr. Harold Carter; she also leaves cousins and nephews to mourn her lostt.
